Application Timing

To support planning and budget decisions, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit 2026–27 fiscal year requests (April 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027) by April 10, 2026. Applications submitted after this date may be considered based on available funding.

Eligibility at a Glance

Your request will not be considered if it includes:

Activities occurring outside Alberta
Individuals, employees or their family members with donations or personal support (eg: fees to programs, equipment, single person support, teams)
Events where alcohol is the focus or a portion of an event focused on alcohol (eg: wine nights, bars at events, beer golf holes, alcohol raffles)
Churches or religious affiliations directly
Funding for capital campaigns (eg: brick-and-mortar projects, buildings, renovations, or infrastructure)
Projects that are part of the ongoing responsibility of governments (eg: schools, municipal programs)
Educational institutions and schools, except for initiatives that fall outside of general expenses
Amateur sport (eg: bull-a-ramas, ladies barrel racing, golf tournament, curling bonspiels)

AFSC’s Sponsorship and Community Investment Program supports initiatives that strengthen Alberta agriculture, build leadership and knowledge, and support healthy, resilient communities across the province.

Eligibility at a glance

Your request may be considered if:

The initiative takes place in Alberta
The request is submitted by a non-profit organization, registered charity or eligible industry organization
The initiative aligns with at least one AFSC focus area
Sponsorship benefits and outcomes are clearly identified
The organization can deliver on commitments and follow through

Our focus areas

Applicants may select a minimum of one and up to three focus areas.

Agriculture and innovation

We support the future of farming by investing in innovation, emerging sectors, agribusiness and the next generation of producers.

Education, leadership and inclusion

We support programs that build confidence, knowledge and practical skills, with a focus on financial literacy and risk management.

Community well-being and connection

We support the health and vitality of Alberta’s agriculture communities, with a focus on mental wellness, safety, inclusion and rural pride.

Application timing

The application portal is open year-round.

Applications submitted after this date may be considered based on available funding.

AFSC cannot fund initiatives that have already taken place.
